HalloWeekends at Cedar Point

My sister and I explored HalloWeekends at Cedar Point this past Saturday. My family has always loved roller coasters, and it has been two years since we have been able to visit the park. We were looking forward to some thrills and short lines, but we were in for a scary surprise.

We thought the park was going to be empty, considering it was 50 degrees outside, but we were mistaken. The park was packed! Majority of the lines were two-hour long waits. We were only able to ride six roller coasters throughout our entire day at the park.

We were also upset about the Fast Lane passes that the park was offering. There is a new option to spend between $80 and $100 for wristbands that allow people to skip everyone else in line. This price does not include the $60 ticket. I was amazed by how many people were willing to spend $160 per person just to be able to skip the lines. I believe it caused us to wait in lines longer than usual, and led to some animosity.

The lines also have a new feature of large flat-screen televisions. During the day, the screens showed popular music videos and trivia games. It took some of the misery out of waiting in lines next to hundreds of strangers. However, after 7 p.m. the televisions started showing gory and peculiar horror films. It was a little disgusting to have to hear heavy metal music and gushing blood while unhappily standing in long lines.

Overall, I shouldn’t complain. The rides are the best in the world, and I was lucky to spend time with my sister. I don’t think HalloWeekends is worth as much money as it costs, and I wouldn’t recommend it to many people. I will stick to carving pumpkins and drinking hot cider next year.

  1. I have never been to HalloWeekends at Cedar Point but now that you talk about it I am not sure I want to go! The wrist bands alone would make me so mad because the were not introduced this June when I went. That just bogs down the line even further than Fast Lane passes. Also, I am not a fan of watching bloody gore while standing in line. Thanks for the review, I will just stick to going in the summer.
